The 4D
Where do we go when we die? What will the afterlife be like? I believe, through the wisdom provided by the Bible, I have an understanding of what it will be like to be in Heaven.
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” -1 Corinthians 2:9
The Bible is complex, to say the least. There are many concepts and interpretations of what our eternal bodies and afterlife will be like. As I research and read my Bible more, I find that I will never know what it is REALLY like until I get there. I call this theory of current understanding “The 4D”.
Yahweh, our God, is almighty. He isn’t just everywhere at once, He is also everyWHEN at once. That means as He is with me in this room, He is at the same “time” creating the heavens and the earth. He is experiencing Adam and Eve AND the end of days all at once. He knows you and what your life will be not because He is “the great predictor”, it’s because He has SEEN IT! He was there when you were born and die all at once. You have free will, but He still knows exactly what you will do. Understand yet? Try and follow me.
We know 3D. 3 dimensional space. We walk through space and understand a full 360 view of the world. We also know 2D. 2 dimensional space is up, down, left, right. Picture the original Mario game. Its flat. We also understand 1D. It looks like this = •
What is 4D? It’s not like the cheesy 4D movies where your chair shakes and you get sprayed by water. 4D is a place where time is not linear. In 4D we don’t just move up, down, left, right and everywhere in between, we move through TIME, like God does. I believe in 4D we will get the opportunity to see our whole life here on earth, along with having “all the time” to be able to observe any period of man kind. Like a ghost/Angel. We will have access to another realm called ‘the Heavens’ that we can also traverse. I don’t think it’s just flying through clouds and singing in a choir with a big happy smile on my face for enternity. I believe it is an incredibly complex and fantastical realm that is wildly interesting. Bursting with overwhelming joy and love being in Gods energy field, I believe we will also see war and be soldiers. Not like here on earth. It wont be war with swords or guns, it’ll be something else that of which I can only describe after experiencing it in the afterlife.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” -Revelation 21:4
4D is much like 3D, just like how 3D is much like 2D. Similar, but MUCH more interesting. Being a history buff myself, I look forward to time not being a limiting factor.
This is my current understanding of the afterlife. I do not believe I have it all figured out and I look forward to a life time of discovery in this area, but I have accepted I will only KNOW when I get to experience it. A “time” I am looking forward to greatly.
Here are some questions I am wrestling with:
The Bible mentioning heaven it says some pretty contradictory stuff to what we, as modern day Christians, are taught. It describes a “new heaven & new earth” meaning that there will be an “old heaven” and our current world will be the “old earth”.
“But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” - 2 Peter 3:13
So my question is where do we go when we die? To the OLD heaven? To an unconscious "holding cell" until the time comes where the New Jerusalem is on the new earth? Do we travel directly to the time where it is here? That almost doesn’t sound right. It sounds like the Bible is describing that when we pass away we are going to the new heaven. So when is that? Is there even a “when” in the 4D?
“For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” -Matthew 5:18
How does this idea of New Jerusalem coming down to the new earth connect to the current Jerusalem? What is Israel's role in the bringing of the new heaven? We know that Yahweh is powerful and time does not restrain Him, so I can only assume that He's not in the process of making the New Heaven and the New Earth. These places are already created, so why are they not here? I believe it is because He is waiting on us to enact the end times through renewal of the church.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” -Revelation 21:1-5
I shall pray and ponder on these things.
