Drive to Cali: Day 5

Last night at about 1:15am, Luis and I drive up to my friend Daisy’s horse farm, in New Mexico. We get greeted with a warm welcome at the door and she has our beds already made up. She is such a great host, and made us feel so comfortable in her 80 year old Pueblo style home. We ended up staying up until 3am catching up on life, passions, and future visions.

I woke up at 8am to do my Bible study, shake and supplements, then she cooked me a banana pancake breakfast! She taught me a new GF recipe that was so simple:

  • An egg

  • A banana

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • Splash of vanilla extract

BOOM! Delicious pancakes. So easy and tasted so good. Daisy is awesome! Her vibe is emaculent, and her energy is definitely resonating in love mode.

After breakfast we went to go see the horses and help around the property.

I ❤️ shoving poop. It is such a great change of pace from computer work. Feels manly!

Luis and I bid Daisy fair well as we embark on our journey. We looked it up, and Walter Whites house from Breaking Bad is only 20 min away so of COURSE we had to go check that out. The woman who owns the house is obviously very tired of fans coming to her house. She put up fences, signs, she even went as far to change the roof itself to a tin roof, so any pizzas thrown on top slide right off.

Luis tells me he watched a video saying that this was a daily problem for her lol. Why buy the house? I like to think she just didn’t know and was blown away by the cheap price. Bought it, and only after feeling like she was being stalked, did she realize she lives in a infamous, fictional, meth dealers house. If it were me I’d just sit outside and charge people $20 per pic, $100 for a pizza toss, $150 for me to dress up like Walter white and pose with them, $200 for a tour of the craw space full of cash. Get all the same furniture and just capitalize on it. Why try and live there? Goofy.

Now we’re on our way. While driving through the desert, I am asking God to direct our paths. Do we go straight to San Diego or do we stop at my Uncle Ron and Aunt Nancy’s house? Not sure what to do quite yet.

Why not both? After consulting with God we found that we can goto Ron and Nancy’s for dinner then complete the drive to San Diego and be there before midnight.

Driving through the mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona I’m impressed with the snow topped mountain views combined with picture perfect cacti speckling the landscape. From snow covered hills to desert plains within an hour. This state is incredible.

We get to Ron and Nancy’s house at 6:20pm and eat a deliciously healthy meal. As we eat, they are cracking us up with their witty jokes. Uncle Ron’s humor and laugh reminds me so much of my Papa. Aunt Nancy started the conversation out with her age old desire to be abducted by aliens, flowing seamlessly to family news/updates, ending it with my favorite topic of all time: Jesus. It was a hour 1/2 well spent and I look forward to reconnecting with them for an extended amount of time on my way back east at the end of this month.

Ron mentioned that my cousin Alex is playing down the street tonight against the Arizona Coyotes. I wish we could have gone, but the ticket prices are more expensive then what i’ve spent so far on this whole trip. At least the senators got the WIN!

Alex DeBrincat had a goal and an assist, and the Ottawa Senators stretched the Arizona Coyotes' skid to seven games with a 5-3 win at Mullett Arena on Thursday.” NHL SITE LINK

2 border patrol check points and a couple of albums later, we finally roll into San Diego, CA.

Mission accomplished. I am blessed to get to stay at Luis’s GF’s house tonight, for I still don’t have a place to stay here yet. My Uncle Tim’s place isn’t available until Sunday. So for the next 2 days i’m going to have to figure out where to rest my head. Maybe i’ll camp out in Sequoia National Park in the snow or join my fellow homeless brethren on skid row. Whatever happens I know God will provide the path and my purpose for being here will become clear. Maybe not to me, but so far the impact He’s made through me has been immeasurable.

I’m wandering, but am not lost. I’m on a mission, yet the objective is hazy. I’m on the great adventure spreading the good news and having some fun along the way. God Bless.
