Book: Week 1 Update
I posted a blog last week about how I am writing a novel. My first book ever, one I’m only writing because I believe the story is the best I have ever conceptualized. I wish to do weekly updates on the progress of this book to keep accountability and momentum going.
I made it my mission to write a page a day and I can happily say I did so. I am 10 pages deep after many nights staying up until 2-3AM. Surprisingly I still wake fairly early, full of energy and excitement for the day ahead.
I’ve written short scripts for companies before, but never a completely creative, story driven, long form novel like this. It is much more difficult than I thought, but VERY FUN and rewarding. As I read over these pages I am proud of what I’ve written thus far for it is interesting, exciting and God honoring.
I have always wanted to write a book, but I didn’t think I would ever get to do it, and if I did it would be FARRRR into the future. I’m not promised tomorrow, Yahweh has blessed me with time freedom, so why not now? Although I don’t feel like a linguist, my daily writing habits these past 6 months have been unknowingly preparing me. Shout out to my cousin, Andrew DeBrincat, for encouraging me to journal and Pastor Manny for giving me the inspiration I needed to do it daily.
As I wrap up chapter one, my character Peter begins to embark on a journey through time, able to be a observer of ancient history. Realizing people of the past were very similar to modern day man. He has the opportunity to visit the Pre-Flood era of human history. Megalithic structures, Nephlim roaming the earth, and advancements of an ancient society enchant him.
I’m tickled to uncover Peters Esaw’s story. As I write I try to use biblical truths mixed with a fictional flare to tell the story of how Peter finds his salvation in Jesus Christ post death. Will he realize nobody deserves to goto heaven or will he choose Heaven by understanding that Christ came to die so that he may live? This is the story of a lukewarm Christian whom Yahweh has compassion to answer all his questions on the mystery’s of the universe.
In the months to come I’ll be looking for friends to read my draft and give me feedback. If you are interested and feel like you could help me edit this book, please comment, send me an email, call or text me. As I get a couple of chapters in I’ll start to share what I have! I eat feedback for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can’t do this on my own.
Shalom and God bless.
